Enjoying a spring day at Poinsett Bridge in Traveler’s Rest, South Carolina. I had been down below the bridge shooting photos, as I left I noticed Julie sitting on a bench. I went up and began talking with her and her boyfriend. After a few minutes I asked if I could photograph her and she agreed. You can almost see her life reflected in her eyes.
Another image from South Carolina. These women were putting up the string that the pole beans will run on. They were covered head to toe to protect them from the sun. It was about 84 degrees so they had to be miserably hot. I was glad to get these images, thank heavens for my shoot pictures first ask for permission later. They were really nice about it after I found one that spoke English. There are small plots being farmed along every river in this part of the state.
I had only been at Long Shoals a few minutes when I noticed this fisherman down stream. I could tell from a distance that he was an older gentleman so I headed down. As I approached he caught a fish and I asked if I could take his photo, he said sure. I really love the fish in his hand and the contrast of the fishing line against his pants. He has a great expression on his face also. He already had 4 trout in his bucket by the time I noticed him.
