“Violet Wood Sorrel”

Oxalis Violacea is a very common edible plant, high in vitamin C. All parts are edible, flowers, stems, leaves and bulbs. Also known as sourweed. It has a very sour taste, we ate it as children just a different variety. It grows all around Buck Creek on my hunting land. It is one of the first flowers to bloom in the spring.

Virgin’s Bower is a plant that looks very pretty blooming or in the seed stage which will come soon. I absolutely love the spiral of the flowers. The seeds also are in a spiral, more to come in a few weeks.

An image from the front yard. Thistle is blooming and seeding all over the place, shoot some today. One of the most amazing plants to photograph anywhere. They go from prickly to purple and then to snowy white seeds blowing everywhere.
